Justice was served in Onslow County today. Denise Sheryl Ramsey prevailed in her cyber stalking case against News in Onslow Publisher Gerald Jackson. Retired Judge Leonard Thaggard was brought in to hear the case and apparently had trouble understanding what a cyber stalking charge even meant in today’s society. Nonetheless, Thaggard ruled for Ramsey and Gerald Jackson was found guilty of cyber stalking. Jackson was ordered to pay cost of court, remove all FB and website post concerning Ramsey and promised to never post about her again. Well,what do you think about that? Seems Ramsey’s emotional breakdown in the courtroom swayed even the seasoned Thaggard.
Seems the only one that had Freedom of Speech here was Ms Ramsey.
Ramsey also had cases of Felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises, communicating threats, possession of SCH II CS and possession of drug paraphernalia that was to be heard on Tuesday. Sorry, I got started late, but will report the outcome of these later.
