WAKE COUNTY – Raleigh cops hope a forensic sculpture will help identify the skeleton of a homeless man found last year. The skeletal remains were found found May 19, 2015, in a wooded area on the 3400 block of West Millbrook Road.
The man isn’t believed to be a victim of a crime. He probably died in 2014 or 2015.
He is believed to have been a 50 to 70 year old white man. He was 71 inches tall; his weight couldn’t estimated. He had a single healed fracture of his left seventh rib. He was wearing zipped and buttoned denim pants size 32, blue and white plaid boxer shorts, two black socks and one slip-on suede-like shoe on the left foot. The right shoe was next to the body. In the right front pocket of the pants was a key on a ring with the letters GM.
A forensic artist from the S.C. Law Enforcement Division created a sculpture of the man’s head based on details from his skull. DNA and dental records have been submitted for review by authorities. Two missing Tennessee men have been ruled out as being the unidentified man: David Riemens, born in 1952 and Dusten Toschlog, born in 1976.
The case remains open. His national unidentified person number is NamUs UP # 13931.
Anyone who recognizes the sculpture or knows something about the case can call the Raleigh Police Department’s tip line at 919-834-4357.
