Onslow County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a woman on felony child abuse charges.
On August 17, 2016 deputies responded to the U.S. Naval Hospital, Camp Lejeune for a report of an 18 month old child being treated for several injuries. Investigation revealed that Rachel Marie Craig was responsible for the injuries to the child. Warrants were obtained and Craig, a 25 year old of Remington Drive in Midway Park was arrested on August 25, 2016 and charged with Felony Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Physical Injury. She is being detained at the Onslow County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond awaiting her first appearance.
Craig is a Navy corpsman stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
The child is expected to make a full recovery from her injuries and is currently in the care of Department of Social Services.
