On March 27, 2015 the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Division arrested Christopher Eugene Newton. The arrest came after a joint narcotics investigation involving the Wilmington Police Department, Wilmington DEA Office, and task force officers assigned to DEA. Detectives seized 6 kilos or over 12 pounds of cocaine concealed inside Newton’s vehicle. The cocaine has a street value of $600,000. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
