Onslow County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people on various drug charges after receiving tips about the sale of heroin in Sneads Ferry.
On July 22, 2016, members of the Onslow County Sheriff’s Narcotics Division were conducting an investigation after receiving tips that Joshua Grappo was selling heroin in the Sneads Ferry community. During this investigation the Sheriff’s Crime Reduction Team conducted a traffic stop of Grappo. During the stop, Grappo told officers he did not have any narcotics; however, Sgt. Jauernik and K9 Bonito were dispatched to the scene where K9 Bonito positively alerted to the presence of drugs. Bonito also alerted to drugs in a purse that was in the vehicle. The purse belonged to Miranda Myers. During the search 97 bindles of heroin were located.
Grappo, a 30 year old male of Hickory Road in Sneads Ferry and Myers, a 24 year old female of Dale Court in Jacksonville were both arrested at the scene. While being searched at the Onslow County Jail, an additional 10 bindles of heroin was located on Myers. Charges on the pair are as follows:

Grappo’s bond was set at $2,000,000 secured.
Grappo was just released in August 2015, from the North Carolina Department of Corrections after serving four years and five months for Trafficking Heroin/Opium.
