An Onslow County School Teacher has been arrested for having a sexual relationship with a student.
On December 6, 2017, Onslow County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a student had been in a sexual relationship with a business/vocational teacher at Swansboro High School. An investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit revealed that over the past four months, Zachary Todd Daugherty, 28 years old of County Club Road in Jacksonville was having a sexual relationship with one of his 17-year-old female students. Daugherty was subsequently arrested December 12, 2017 and charged with:
(6) Counts Sex Act with a Student
(3) Counts Indecent Liberties with a Student
Daugherty was transported to the Onslow County Detention Center under a $45,000 secured bond.
